It's good to lay it off for a while. Especially if you find that you can't control yourself when gambling.

Yes, there's no other thing to do if you are finding trouble with yourself and gambling is the root cause of it. Sometimes lie lowing isn't about you are trying to forget it forever. Taking a rest for a while and then gets back to it when you are ready but just to make sure that you'll not do the same mistake again or else the sequence will be repetitive and in your part you'll still can't move on or else just find the things that will get your interest.
I don't know if it's a good idea to start gambling again if you know that you have a gambling problem.
Even if everything seems fixed, you can easily relapse when you gamble again, even if it's just occasionally.

If you're really addicted, it might be best to call it quits for good and ask the gambling sites to block your IP if possible.
I know that Crypto-Games has that option if you're a problem gambler, I don't know about other sites.
