Since this thread is going to now develop in methods and ways to get these running...
I purchased 3 miners. Once I found out the were shipping, I quickly did some research and I figured a raspberry PI would be the best thing to control these... I did little to no research after that because other things came up. I have a while before my miners get to me I assume, so I hope to have my setup ready for when they arrive.
If anyone would like to point me in the right starting direction, I would appreciate it. Things like what OS I should put on my pi, what miner I should use... I plan to buy this:
http://www.amazon.com/Anker%C2%AE-Uspeed-7-Port-Adapter-Chipset/dp/B006TT91TW ... can I use that to power the pi, and then also plug it into the PI for splitting to the USB miners? or will that create some sort of infinite loop of doom... (pure ignorance here).
After I get it running... I would like to then get it running off the grid (and then brag about how green bitcoin is to shut those environmental fuckheads up). Any pointers on rigging up a solar charger to a battery system that could power this setup... or maybe a bike hooked to a generator? Is that feasible?
Basically... those of you setting up multiple units, and using a PI, what is your setup going to be?
