It's good news and cryptocurrency probably prompted them to speed up a little, however traditional banks will be around for a long time. The UK and probably most of Europe have had this ability for several years now. Many people will never trust bitcoin to the same degree as a bank and while it has survived so far, there may be unforeseen circumstances that wipe out its value.
