the market  cap and  the supply.    Of  10000  coins only  one goes x10..  to  get  a  x10  it's  a  good  thing  and  it's becaming a  rare thing, because   projects born everyday and the  market it's  too  diluited
So  to pick a  coin in time   when it's on infancy   would be great,  cause at infancy a  x10 or even a  x100 it's possible.
When  they are at 10 cent  with  a   important market cap things  get harder and harder
