Do you think there would ever be a time the CIA or some central-authority-agency would in someway sponsor activities that would hurt Bitcoin's image in the world?

If the government of the America is against the bitcoin and cant control it then there is possibilities that your question might happen and the same with other nations that wont support bitcoin but i dont see this will going to happen in USA because the government dont see any threat from bitcoin in fact the Penragon plans to adopt blockchain technology to depend their system.
