Noticed airdrops have been popping up lately ever since eBTC airdropped coins.
But my question is, why would companies be giving away free tokens/money?
Sounds a little to good to be true. Who just gives away free money like that?
Basically, that's part of their strategy and airdrop is used to lure some users or investors to invest for that token. Some airdrops are made before or after the ICO. You can think of it like a demo version of a software so you can test it for yourself and buy it if you are satisfied or happy with that software.
Just my assumption that if a project allocating the majority of the total supply to the airdrop, investor will hardly interested to invest into such thing because they can get it for free, so why wasting money for free stuff.
if the project itself is really interesting and not just allocating too much token for the airdrop, the investor will probably be attracted.
