BTCG has a promsing future in my opinion.
Its more decentralized then Bitcoin Core, with using the equihash algo.
The common miners with their GPU are taking back control.
Not with BTC who's been monopolyzed by ASIC farms.
So i actually like BTCG.
Only time will tell us which one is good but for now, I don't think it is going to be a better than bitcoin.
