Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you're not smart/knowledgeable enough to run a pool right now.

If you have to ask questions like "what is bitcoind," and "what kind of machine do you use" then you've got a long ways to go.

No one with experience is going to hold your hand setting up a business that will compete directly with them.

Why do you want to run a pool?  If you are trying to get the level of help that you obviously need then you're going to have to pay for it.

My goal is not to be insulting or negative, just realistic.  Sorry if I am coming off otherwise.  There is a huge wealth of knowledge here that you aren't even searching.
