There was a time people went into the Deep Web on SR, BMR, Sheep and whatever site was online back in 2012 to offer services and products that had nothing remotely to do with illegal things, simply because that was the only place to sell for BTC.
Sure nowadays a lot of shops offer crypto payments, but why should we limit ourselves to the "normal web"? Most of the times, you get fewer scammers on the illegal sites than on some of the shitty looking "retailer sites" on the clearnet
