There are so many social media's available now a days. You may have heard or used ORKUT and Twoo. When they were started people were saying these are the best social media platform but when Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, Telegram and Insta etc came into the market they rocked or you can say change the era of social media.
What do you think these are the best and last social media??? Or in some year we will have another social media ?
I don't think at all that these are the best I think they are the most succesfull. Social media is peer focused. If you have a celebrity using your social media then you can expect their fans to also use that same platform.
If you have your friends on one platform then you naturally also join that platform.
If you then have celebs and other people on your platform naturally businesses will want to join your platform to sponsor, advertise and so on.
I think there will at some point be a social media shift, generations change and often when it comes to social platforms its the young generations that will set the tone and pace for where and what platform. If young people suddenly think privacy is important then they will migrate from facebook.
Businesses will just go where ever young people go because they know they can profit allot from that group of consumers.
Parents will go where the young people go because they want to be up-to-date with their young ones internet activities and possibly moniter them.
I think that when these platforms first arrived that it was very hyped and everyone's friends were doing it. But you hear it more and more that people are generally dissatisfied with facebook and their policies (from young people). Some even regret making an account in the first place. It can still take a while though because the conveinience is that everyone uses these platforms. So it will take some trendsetters to migrate.
Businesses actively track social media platforms userbase and look out for where the trend is going and what platforms are favored.
