Apparently this is already happening...just yesterday I saw another thread right here on this forum that mentioned a university in Switzerland now accepting bitcoin for payment of tuition fees:

Good for that country, I hope it will also happened not only my country but whole world.But if the bitcoin will be use our daily transactions it is good news for us because there's no trading to fiat currency be happen if that can be. Bitcoin will be used in our daily payments not just schools university but in some merchant too. Especially local store in japan will be using bitcoin as their payment and it is wide open for bitcoin users.
