I heard it back in 2011 where in there was a huge hype of mining Bitcoin using GPU's and there were numerous facebook groups where they posted they rigs and also had many tutorials for other to follow or even customize their rigs in order to work better.
I wish I would have heard of bitcoin back in 2011, even though I'm sure even if I did back then I still would have not invested. I've heard about bitcoin maybe around 2013 while reading the news and again in 2014, and almost every years - I never cared about bitcoin and never even took the time to learn what it's about. Only after the Ethereum alliance (back in February) did I start to get interested in investing in the the crypto space - I remember upon reading these news that ETH was up to something big, because all of the sudden so many companies started validating the idea, that it inspired so many other to simply buy and believe in the development. Vitalik is doing a great job, so do the core developes of Bitcoin of course as well.
