I received our S9 from warranty repair today... When I turned it on the controller immediately caught fire! I haven't seen that happen since I had BFL gear. It is now all boxed up and will be headed back for another warranty repair in the morning.
I assume they do not offer any kind of compensation for the gross incompetence? You would think that receiving a unit from the warranty team, it would have been tested prior to shipping out?
It was marked up like it had been through testing... It might have been something that occurred during shipping. I could probably pitch a fit with Bitmain and get a coupon, but I'm not sure how much benefit that would bring. I've covered the shipping costs out of my own pocket, so the negative impact is somewhat limited. Mostly I'm glad I still have my eyebrows.
