Yes surely that will take us to edge of universe. :-) I mean any new merchant and if its big enrolling into bitcoin market means more users if bitcoin and hence ultimately bigger investors of it. This will boost the market capitalisation of bitcoin and more trust will be built with these new merchants. Also this actually leads to indirect marketing of the bitcoin or crypto currencies to more different and interested merchants around the globe. Hope to see that this will bring up some positive news soon.
