This wallet have more security and easy to use. but keep in mind dont click any phishing site .Always keep in bookmarks the site and dont try to search on google to get the link. because many phishing site are found by google search, Without MEW you can use METAMASK  google chrome extension to store your token.
IF you want to store your bitcoin you can use blockchain wallet.and coinbase [ coinbase does not a wallet]
