Lookup the large bitcoin collider and what google did to sha-1 crypto.  Then ask yourself how long you think bitcoin itself will be around.  Bitcoin was great but its just introducing new and better technologies.  Once all of the projects really get going why would you hold bitcoin or would you spend it?  

Edit: It looks like decred is gold.  If bitcoin does fail.  The smart guys will just atomic swap over from bitcoin to decred and decred will atomically take the number 1 spot in crypto.  Whens that decentralized exchange gonna be ready?
