Uhm so this is just a kind of murky pyramide ponzi scheme (referal system where you earn from referall fee with multiple levels) which hides behind a exchange?

Well sure, but we are all trading the same coins. This incentive program drives trading volume into their exchange. As opposed to BitConnect where someone will be left holding the bag at the end.
The big difference is that you are not putting out anything other than effort (no cost to you). If you will trade anyway, why not?
I apply same logic in my credit cards, I get ones with cash back...collect the cash back w/o paying interest because I pay it in pull every month. They pay me for using their service.
