Can works this rig: 2 R9 290 and 1 R9 280,h81 pro btc and ssd 64 gb with a Corsair RMX1000 80 Plus Gold 1000W Modular?, Any problem with the alimentation?
I think that it can work, 290 have 275 W of tdp and 280 have 200 W of tdp, if you sum this it give 750 W and you ghave a plus gold 1000W psu
I'm not talking TDP, I'm talking REAL WORLD power draw of my existing R9 290 and R9 280x cards.
My "big rig" triple R9 290 pulled over 1000 watts at the wall when it was a pure ETH rig, using a TITANIUM power supply and a low-power Sempron 145/MB/small HD setup - and that was AFTER undervolting it via the use of a BIOS from TheStilt.
I wouldn't trust 2 x 290 and a 280x on a 1000 watt PS for long-term mining - even a GOOD one like an EVGA G2 1000 or a Seasonic X1000 - marginal at best and high probability of lots of crashes when the GPU power draw spikes happen.
Keep in mind that TDP and actual power draw from a GPU is NOT a constant steady load - it varies some while mining and it DOES see some significant short-term spikes on draw.
Typical HD might eat 10-15 watts or so at full draw - typical SSD is more like 5 or a bit less.
NOT a big savings on power usage, and the HD spends a lot of time in a low-power mode so the real savings is even less.
