Nobody is stopping you from renting a miner or Hashrate
Except as I explained it will not be profitable if you do that after a couple of days have passed. Once the coin hits exchanges the whales will dump on you as they have a couple of millions of coins to dump.
I'd like to explain about this. This coin won't start giving POS reward until 25000 blocks, and we'll hit exchange well before 25000 blocks, so the miners (whom you consider whales) won't have mined couple million of coins, as you have mentioned. But yes, if early miners do continue to mine and continue to stake on those mined coins, they will get more benefit, as they joined earlier and kept on holding it, so they would deserve it. Early adopters do have edge but it doesn't mean that they will get everything. Once this coin will hit the exchange, investors would be able to buy and hold for POS rewards.
