I don't know how they decide this and it is really the worst thing they decide. They gave free money for the first miners. Some succed to get 0.5 BTC. Can you imagine mining a coin and getting 3500 USD in one night and that it can be immediately sold?
It is impossible with other new mining coins.

What pissed me off even more is that i was unable to use the miner, and there was no way to make it working....

There certainly was a way to make it work, you just weren't able to. But that is not the fault of ETN devs.
It was a little the dev fault. As they did only gave instructions about mining with CPU. And some people already mined it if GPU on other mining pools. And i think not everyone mined everyday coins...
Especially they knew that some investors don't know nothing about mining. And why did they open the Exchange before everything? That's another problem too. Other ICO don't put their coins in Exchanges so fast.
