No, sending from an exchange is NOT ok. You will have to use an ERC20 compatible wallet. MyEtherWallet for instance is perfect for this. You can also use any other ERC20 compatible wallet, such as Mist, Parity. We are just in the process of preparing detailed instructions, which will guide through the entire procedure.
