Avalon is selling chip productions in minimum batches of 10000 there are a good dozen people implementing these. Yes 4.5GH/s will likely be the new 450MH/s
We are basically just swapping a $300 450MH/s video card with a $300 4.5GH/s ASIC. At least until even newer ASICS are released.will there be a plentiful supply of chips? if so all is well and good
edit-- found my own answer, at least the end of the year, im a little less bitter towards ASIC now.
