I'm having trouble solo mining

"Ok, I have RPC miner and a bitcoin wallet setup.  I thought I did everything right but I keep getting this...

"No blocks are being hashed right now.  This can happen if the application is
still starting up, you supplied incorrect parameters, or there is a
communications error connecting to the RPC server"

Host = http://api.bitcoin.cz
server port = 8332

any ideas?
