Bitcoin should be used by the everyday citizen, because of it`s unique nature. The uniqueness comes from the fact that it isn`t materialiased by an institution like the federal reserve or any other bank or country. This allows for true independence of the individual, but most importantly the currency isn`t dependent of the policies which a state makes (like pesion funds and welfare), but more about the needs of the people to have a currency of it`s services and that is why people should use it.
