What kind of protections are in place? Could there not be a situation where a fake user confirms his or her identify with the help of a fake agent?

The identity confirmation rely on your private key, only available on your trusted devices. Your identity cannot be faked or stolen when using Login and Digital Identity feature of the ABT Protocol.
