At first, I honestly didn't expect that it will increase as this high. The continuous increase on the demand that it is getting from the market as more countries are making it legal, made this possible in my opinion. It is now already expensive, and there's still a possibility for its value to be more expensive because of the fork. And maybe in early 2018, it will be already priced at 10000$ if the segwit2x in November will be successful.
