The only reason why its market value drop is because there are people who are selling their bitcoin and it highly affects the demand that it is having. It has todo with the relation of demand and supply. The hardfork is also a factor why people are selling their Bitcoin and it might be because they are afraid that its market value might fall in an insatant so what they are doing is assuring that they won't lose money so they are choosing to sell their Bitcoin.
