I think that criminals are already using bitcoins. They can easily hide their stolen money in to it. Nobody will know it because bitcoin is anonymous so it will be very hard to detect them.
Today there are scammers, hackers and criminals using bitcoin in order to store their money. The police can't take them away so the scammers can live with this money.
