I came across an article this morning that, to me, really shows why the world needs a virtual currency. I'm from England, and there's a saying here that goes: "When America sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold." The article discusses the history of the Asian Financial Crisis, and how we may be heading toward something similar.
It amazes me that we have a currency that can potentially protect us (working people) from global financial crises. This is unique and incredible time in history!

So I've read the article though I must admit I skipped other parts. And I agree with you that it really is an on point article that tell all the reasons why virtual currencies are needed. It's been discussed how a group of people can manipulate and cause financial crisis on a certain country and it should end now. Cryptocurrencies might be the answer to this crisis though it can also be manipulated by whales, still it is by far the solution to financial problems. With that being said, countries who aren't still legalizing it should consider this.
