We have decided to continue with the fork as planned. We will not allow the destiny of Bitcoin to be controlled by 6 individuals.

Same date - November 15th.

That's cute, but why would anyone care about this? The reasons 2x was a threat was due to a majority of miners and most of the major services leaving the legacy BTC chain. Jihan Wu signed the cancellation memo, so we can remove "majority of miners" from the equation. Without the mandate of having the strongest chain, how could they even begin to make the argument that 2x is "Bitcoin?"

That said, it's interesting that Coinbase said they were "monitoring" the situation 12 hours after the announcement came out -- almost as if they have an interest in pushing forward with the fork.

The reality is that the fork will happen because BTC1 nodes are already in the wild, and there are likely also other patched nodes set to fork at Block #494,784. But will anybody notice? That's the only question now....
