I finally received an Airdrop that actually had some value (BLUE) and traded 10,000 for .3 ETH on EtherDelta. A couple days later it was trading higher so I purchased more than twice the original amount I had. A couple more days go by, I sell and almost double the amount of ETH I had in the exchange.

That right, btw its best to do day trading especially if the token is new. Sometimes are just pump and dump scenario and no clear development plan. Day trading always a rewarding for me like for example if you gain at least 10 percent I sell then repeat the process to other token or coins. Banks only gives 3% a year or less
Little by little, you can accumulate, as what @OP started, yes its possible to reach 1 BTC if you are steadfast and focus on it.
