I sent it 5 days ago and still nothing? I updated my electrum wallet to support the child/parent pay and no matter how high/low i make the transaction fee it either says "maximum fee exceeded" or it goes through to let me sign then gives me a transaction error rejected by network rules \64\dust
Is there any way to speed up the process or am I just screwed? i've already lost $80~ in BTC from the wait time and price fluctuation....

Well did you tried to switch to a different wallet? Like Multibit-Hd or something?
Regarding the unconfirmed transaction, try to put the transaction id into
https://pool.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ to accelerate the transaction and see if you are lucky.
