My answer is No, I don't think bticoin value has an effect on fiat being worthless simply because these two have different system though they focus on the same target people. Also, if the bitcoin price  reaches to the point where its value is $10k then I think bitcoin can be consider as a direct medium for transaction next to fiat but none of this would be called as worthless for they value much to the people who still holds that.
