In my view where the alts will gain power is when the cryptocards spread. Imagine a future where you go with you card monaco or any similar cards that convert your coins into cash and you pay in any shop you want. this mean LITE won't go up maybe by 10000% but the market cap of /btc will spreas accross the main altoins which will keep growing . I feel BTC will stay btw 5-10k but will always be one of the main transit coins while LTC co will see the real growth . Let's face it , to see a market cap of 2 trillions for BTC is not going to happen soonm at least, but x10 market cap of 20 billion for LTC is well possible in the next 6 months .
