Nope, it's the same thing as happened with 1070 cards, which were all shipping with Samsung memory chips at first, but then pretty much all switched to Micron, and there was no sure way to tell what you're getting beforehand (I think now they're all Micron). I've seen people contacting mfgs asking about 1060s, and the replies they got were all "we can't guarantee any particular memory type for any particular batch". Sometimes they do mention the memory type for mining-specific 1060 cards, but then it's always in the card's name.

It's not accurate, the only point of that article is just to get people click on those referral links to Amazon and make some scrap to the site owner (although you know that since you post similar links yourself).
