I have tried mining feathercoin, but I think the difficulty is a bit high now to get a substancial amount easily
You're not going to get rich off anything, unless you either have a LOT of cash to invest in the very beginning (ex. right after a coin is released) or you already have a nice farm set up to jump on them as soon as they pop up.
