even when attacked from the inside by blockstream/core it just forks and offers two chains. at least one will continue delivering p2p electronic money to the people with low fees. maybe both? we'll see. 
People leave bitcoincash because their block is still not perfect, so they prefer to go back to bitcoincore. And I'm sure bitcoin will reach $ 4000 by the end of this year 
You got really your point and now maybe they are wounded, hurting as bitcoin soaring up high and even exceeds your expectation of 4K USD. Bitcoin has always has reached all time high on its value so far and maybe it would even reach 10K USD before this year ends.
