To the people who have lost a lot of money it really does not matter what the technical details are. It really does not matter. fact is they bought bitcoin - they got hacked - the money was lost. End of story.

No one is blaming the user. It's just that saying that "Bitcoin has been hacked" is misleading and exactly the kind of misinformation that leads to people not properly protecting their cryptocurrency holdings. It shrouds the issue in ignorance and therefore disrupts any meaningful discussion about it.
