Right now i'd say invest if you have the funds to do so. If you have bitcoin then keep holding it. It's not as much to profit from bitcoin forks but rather just to benefit from the price rises of bitcoin that i think will continue to happen towards the end of the year nearing christmas.

The line of "holding" and "investing" really blurs. Because if you invest, you better be prepared to hold. Don't go for the short term but rather play the long term game. Bitcoin is one of those things that i personally really believe in, andi  wouldn't dump all my stash even if it became $10k or more overnight.

If you're talking about investing in forks of BTC though, i personally don't do it.
