I used Coinbase to buy Bitcoins. The do charge a fee for that and you have to set up a link to a bank account and provide identification to set up your account. If you are willing to do all of that, it seems to work fine and was relatively easy.

You can also try localbitcoins but I don’t know how much that will cost you in fees.
