ICOs have been the craze for the past year, many teams have raised tremendous amounts of dollars for startup capital. How does the amount of startup capital effect the performance of the team? A week ago I wrote a post about a new project called "Genesis Vision" (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2433032.0) that only raised $2,836,724 in the ICO sale. Genesis Vision ICO investors have already received a 7x return (ICO price valued at $1). We are just getting started, below I've attached the link to an amazing article by Crowd Conscious, which analyzes the importance of startup capital.

I would say that for sure a smaller raise generally would lead to greater returns for investors but this is easy to see as less capital gained means a smaller market cap initially. On the other hand however more smaller ICOs will fail than bigger ICOs as bigger ICOs tend to signify confidence from the market in the team and the idea.
