Exactly, Bitcoin is safe, as long as you take the necessary precautions. Back in time I forgot to put a password on my wallet, and well, 0,08BTC were stolen. Hopefully it was only worth 16$ in that time - saying this always make me feel like an early adopter - but nowadays it is worth a lot more sadly. 800$ I could have still today if I was a bit more cautious.
