The most successful science nerd sitcom, The Big Bang Theory, aired its Bitcoin-focused episode last night going out to an estimated 12.6 million viewers. The episode, which went by the title The Bitcoin Entanglement, followed Sheldon and the gang as they embarked on a mission to track down the long lost, and forgotten Bitcoins that they had mined back in 2011.
Go to article on BitcoinistIt would be interesting to get an update about the viewership of this episode. That said, Bitcoin has moved beyond the used-by-nerds stage. This kind of portrayal may not be that good for Bitcoin's image amongst ordinary people.
For the most recent episode the number is still TBA. However the show is usually watched by 13-14 million people on average. Only in the States.
