Revolution or not, we have to feel lucky were alive at this current stage of the bitcoin economy. Bitcoins have already made a ton of people rich and I think it will continue to do so.
Alt coins on the other hand, are the next major investment. Since they tackle existing problems with bitcoins, Im certain they have a lot more potential in price than BTC does.
In addition to that, its still not to late to join this revolution and enjoy being rich as well in the future. As far as altcoins, they have been created to improved bitcoin problems, like Ethereum, but I really doubt that investors will jump on them now. Maybe in 5 years or so, if a new coin is reborn and started to excite people once again as bitcoin did.Alt coins on the other hand, are the next major investment.
