it isn't necessarily cynical - it is merely one of the possible outcomes every time the site goes down.
whenever this happens we should play a game, "post how much you have invested/deposited in the site and how worried you are that you've lost it all from 0-10, 0 being not worried and 10 being quite worried!"
Personally I blame mp's vagina banner for the spike in traffic that took the server out.
