Reminds me of the "Next bonus ball" trick where you sent spam email to say 100,000 people saying the bonus ball with be X number next week. By end of first week, if there's 50 balls 49 will be wrong and 1 will be right. So you're left with 2000 people who think you predicted right. Repeat the week after to those 2000 people and suddenly 40 people now think you've guessed the bonus ball two weeks in a row and are perfectly vulnerable to be scammed.
Only in this case there's more margin for error!
