Exactly my thought. It's not the fault of the game but the ETH network itself. Still it's a lesson for the ETH team to work harder.
I am sure the Ethereum developers were well aware that there are scaling solutions needed and they were already working on it. They did not need this game to show it to them and just because the kitties game is clogging the network they can't just release something right now that is planned to be finished in a year.
If they were well aware, why did they allow the network to take that amount of transactions that led to such clogging then? They deliberately let all the network flaws be there for everybody to see? Don't think so.
I guess they can't limit the amount of gas someone is using for a transaction and kitties people are using shitload amount of gas for the transactions.
That's why everyone else is stuck.
