I don't think so.
People are using social media because they are to busy to meet with friends personally, or don't have real friends, or feel lonely etc.
Some people are very popular, like musicians, politicians, etc. and for them is more convenient to communicate with people over social media.
Other are asking for help, trying to change the world, help people in need etc.
There are many reasons why people are using social media.
