Altcoins that dont have any serious team behind them or those that are not based in a serious project will die. But there are also altcoins that will last and will have a bright future. Take a look at IOTA 
It's prob the worst time to buy iota. It's seriously over hyped!IOTA is a coin with serious team and project behind. The last deals with Microsoft, Cisco, Samsung, Volkswagen etc. prove that.
If you are talking for short term trading i would prefer forex and not coins. Some altcoins are very good investments for future.
Im into investments and not "short-term" games buying and selling after a couple of cents.
