New Miner Here: Running into issues with PSU(s) and outlet, presumably

Hello, I just took delivery of a Canaan AvalonMiner 741 (7.3TH/s model). A few folks have suggested running the 1600w Sorcerer PSU which is what the unit came with when I purchased. I should say before anything that I'm limited to a 110v standard house outlet. It happens to be in my corporate office at my company but you get the idea.

After plugging the unit in and realizing that nothing was turning on, I was provided feedback that the 1600w PSU may be too large for a standard wall outlet. I ran over to MicroCenter and picked up an EVGA 1300W SuperNova G2 which is actually the PSU that came recommended by the mfgr.

Upon plugging in and connecting the 6-pin's X6, still nothing. Just absolute silence, no fan spinning nothing.

What do you guys think the issue is? I figured the 1300w unit would very easily run as information online has told me that it technically should accept up to 2400W, even in the states.

Is there a standard practice I can go about checking the PSU and the AvalonMiner (*fingers crossed it's not that) to ensure what exactly is occurring? Thanks!
